GOV. FINTIRI VISITS ATTACK-HIT ADAMAWA COMMUNITY,CONFIRMS 29 DEAD.
Governor of Adamawa State Umaru Fintiri has confirmed that at least 29 people were killed following a deadly attack on Guyaku community in Gombi Local Government Area of Adamawa State, describing the incident as both tragic and unacceptable.
The governor disclosed the casualty figure during an on-the-spot assessment visit to the affected community, where he commiserated with grieving families and reassured residents of the government’s commitment to strengthening security.
Fintiri emphasized his administration’s resolve to collaborate with security agencies to prevent further violence and restore normalcy to the area.
Tension continues to grip the community, as fear and grief linger among residents,particularly women, children, and the elderly,many of whom have fled their homes over concerns of renewed attacks.
Community leader Aggrey Ali Kumo stated that the assailants operated for several hours, killing residents, burning places of worship, and destroying property, including motorcycles.
